Tiger Woods, in obvious pain from knee surgery, recovered from an almost human days play with a long birdie to come in at 1 under par and match earlier finisher, Rocco Mediate's 283.
With both at even score and the only contestants in the US Open to come in under par, a playoff is scheduled for Monday. It will be 18 holes.
