Smurfs Turn 50

I never watched smurfs but obviously some people do, given its longevity and the possible release of a trilogy.
I can't think of anything more 'goofy' than cartoons by a French-Belgian. The garish creations of Disney and others look like they are intended to scare the hell out of children.
