The state of the trucking industry today isn't so great. It's not only about fuel prices, it''s about the economy as a whole. Truckers have been able to survive high fuel prices before because the economy could support the freight rates that were needed to haul the freight and allow truck and fleet owners to charge enough to cover the expenses including the fuel prices.
It's the economy that drives trucking. A strong trucking industry can't survive a slowing economy. Especially now with the overabundance of trucks and the slow down of freight.
Trucking companies fail in good times, but in bad times, it's a tough ride. Thanks to the idiot politicians this is going to be a rough ride.
