That it could be hijacked by someone who wanted to insert a site-wide followed link to a 'bad neighborhood' into your Top Commentator list? Or that someone who wasn't the original commentator could insert their link into your Top Commentator list, even from the Akismet filter? Well, with the way the plugin works, they can do this, making you link to a bad site and taking away the value of the widget to both you and your readers.
