Living By Learning: Why do I homeschool?

This article looks at why one family is choosing to homeschool. In the past, most homeschoolers made this choice for religious reasons. Now, parents are choosing homeschool for educational reasons. Increasingly, parents are choosing to homeschool due to the negative impact of the No Child Left Behind Act. NCLB has pushed schools to focus on subjects that are tested, at the expense of other subjects. NCLB also has a negative impact on creativity and on the needs of the brightest students.
