Barack Obama finally appeared on Fox News on the No Spin Zone. He finally showed just a little bit of courage and allowed himself to be interviewed by Bill O’Reilly. Of course this was an attempt by him to steal a little of John McCain’s spotlight at the RNC on the night John McCain was to give his speech. This coming after his campaign “urged” John McCain to not steal Barack Obama’s night by announcing his running mate during Barack Obama’s speech. So much for “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander” huh?

During this interview Barack Obama finally admitted that the surge was a success even though he refused to admit that he was wrong about the surge. He went so far as to say that the surge “worked beyond our wildest dreams”. Still he claims he was right to oppose it based on what he says is the lack of Iraqis to stand up for themselves. He must not be watching all of the news coming out about Iraq the last few days. He must have missed the report that said that 15 out of 18 benchmarks were reached. He must have missed the reports that the United States and Iraq have reached a “time horizon” for troop withdrawal by 2011, he must have missed General Petraeus’ report may include a reduction of troops, and he must have also missed the fact that the United States has turned Anbar Province over to the Iraqi’s. All of these recent developments were achieved because the Iraqi people are beginning to stand up. Barack Obama missed all of these events, he must have had something else on his plate that is taking up all his time.
