I'm not sure how exactly this will promote savings but Japanese toy giant Tomy co LTD has come up with an innovative way to encourage their aging population to save. An exploding piggy bank. Let me say the important part again. You know, in case you missed it... "encourage their again population to save... piggy bank" How many "aging populations" do you know that manage to save anything beyond pocket change in a piggy bank? Hell, how many "aging populations" even have piggy banks?
