HUA PI...or in good ol' English -- Painted Skin. And yes, it's a Mandarin movie title. But no, it's not about body painting. It's a film that's based on one of the scariest ghost stories (by Chinese standards, that is) from the famous classic (yup! It's old!) supernatural-themed short stories collection -- Strange Stories of Liaozhai (see book cover, below) by Pu Song Ling (1640-1715), a renowned writer of the Qing Dynasty.
