Grand Rapids Helicopter Crash

A helicopter crashed on the heliport of Spectrum Hospital this morning in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The helicopter crashed leaving thick black plumes of smoke and filling the downtown area of Grand Rapids with a huge cloud of smoke.

The two people fortunately did not sustain serious injuries. With the explosive nature of this crash it is amazing that anyone walked away.

Due to the leakage of fuel from the helicopter, the top three floors of Spectrum Hospital had to be evacuated. The patients had to be transfered to area hospitals. The environmental team was called in to do the extensive clean-up.
