Lent buns (English), laskiaispulla (Finnish) semlor or fettisdagsbulle (Swedish)... yummy but plain caradamom-spiced wheat buns with almond paste filling. Today is Shrove Tuesday and they are supposed to be eaten this day, but bakeries have been selling them since December and they will continue to sell them for several weeks.

Find a nice bag of buns at your supermarket and make your own lent buns!
