When you start out blogging you get such a rush. Inspiration for posts seem to be everywhere, you are getting comments and your traffic is slowly increasing. Everything is going great - until the honeymoon period ends.

Give it a month - two if you’re lucky, and:

* Inspiration for posts start to dry up
* Blogging seems more like a chore
* You are still getting comments - but they are just from the same people every time
* and your traffic stats are going nowhere

However you did make some money from your blog, so thats good, right?

Except here is your income breakdown for the1(0r 2) months:

* $2.67 from adsense
* $5 for a 125×125 private adsale to another newbie blogger

You are estatic! You made money online, all your friends will be jealous - as long as you don’t tell them how little you made.

Let’s break it down for a second:

1hr/day X 30 Days = 30hrs work

$7.67 / 30 = 25.67cents

You are working for 25cents an hour?!?!

You make a whole lot more even working part-time at maccas. I am not sure what the minimum wage is. But even for a 15y/o in Australia you would be getting $7+ an hour working at McDonalds!

So why do we blog when it seems hardly worth it?
