WordPress 2.5 has been out for a few days now and, at the suggestion of some co-bloggers on other sites, I had tried to upgrade my main blog to the latest and most-hyped version of the blogging software. However, after several hours of messing around with the upgrade, re-formatting old posts, updating current plugins, dealing with dead plugins and otherwise correcting flaws with the rendering, I can tell you that it might not be worth the trouble if you're coming from a version prior to 2.3.

I've left out many of the gory details of my upgrade experience, but I can tell you that the three hours to restore my site from backup was time well spent. The hours I had spent on the upgrade, though, I want to get back.

What's your take of WordPress 2.5? Is it worth the hype?
