The power of anchor text and back links has been shown. Not necessarily in a good way if you are the Church of Scientology. A Google bomb attack using anchored text for the terms "dangerous cult" and "brainwashing cult" has successfully gotten the church to the first spot on Google for both terms. Back links and anchor text are amazingly strong, and this just shows that with enough back links and anchor text, you could get just about any site ranked for any keyword.
