Recently I've been using SponsoredReviews.com to make money by blogging. Before I have advised selling private ads and reviews on blogs, but the disadvantage to that is the lack of marketplace, which gives you loads of exposure to potential advertisers who wouldn't find you otherwise. Another good thing about SponsoredReviews.com is that you can make more than you normally would, thanks to their system rankings and price recommendations. My blog is five stars, or checkmarks in this case, and SR recommends selling ads for $250-800 a pop, which I can do. Is doing that selling private advertising on my blog alone possible? No, definitely not!
